Nasarawa boss, Nikyu blames defeat to Enyimba on Rustiness

Nasarawa United head coach Bala Nikyu says his side will learn from their league defeat against Enyimba.

Nikyu insists the players are yet to find rythm, and defended goalkeeper Yinka David’s underwhelming performance at the Lafia Township Stadium.

The Solid Miner started the 2022-2023 campaign with a 2-1 home defeat to Enyimba.

Two goals in six minutes by Elijah Akanni and Imoh Obot put the visitors in control, before Oche Josiah got a consolation for the Solid Miners.

Reacting to the result Nikyu said, “For a long time, we’ve not played a competitive match and we are a bit match rusty, it affected us but I’m sure we will come back.

“Our goalkeeper is fantastic, he just had a bad day and he has been doing well, so we can’t blame him for making mistakes,” he said.
