Nasarawa United boss Bala Nikyu insists his team failed to play to its potentials against Enyimba, despite picking a point.

After falling behind 1-0 in the first half, courtesy Chukwuemeka Obioma’s 12th minute penalty, Nasarawa fought back to snatch a point at the Aba international stadium on Wednesday.

Substitute, Emmanuel Ogbole struck the equalizer in the 76th minute following a defence-splitting pass from Chidera Nduka.

“It was a good game, not because of the result, but because of the determination of my players – at least, everybody was determined to play,” The coach told the press.

The draw means the Solid Miners avoided back to back defeats after the slim 0-1 away loss to Remo Stars FC last Sunday.

“I think if we had played half of what we played at Remo Stars, we would have gone with a win today because we played better at Remo than we did here today.

“However, I am happy to see that the boys are interested in getting something positive.

“There weren’t so much differences between what you saw in the first stanza and now. This stanza, there is a change in character of the players and we have been able to blend everybody together.”

They would return home to host bottom-placed El-Kanemi Warriors this Saturday in a must-win clash as they continue with their battle against the drop zone.
