Nasarawa United hands Warri Wolves first home defeat of the season

Nasarawa United maintained their good start to the 2020-2021 NPFL season with a victory away to Warri Wolves.

The Solid Miners went into the match as the only unbeaten side in the top division after five round of matches.

The Bala Nikyu side didn’t settle quickly into the match and fell behind in the 30th minute as Uche Uhuarulam gave the home side the lead.

Nasarawa United were luck not to go  into the break trailing by two goals or more, no thanks to inability of the home side to take their chances.

After the break the visitors stepped up and started to cause Warri Wolves problems with their blistering attack.

They managed to equalize in the 63rd as Silas Nwankwo benefited from a poor defending by the home team to level.

The Solid Miners turned the game completely around in the 78th, when match day two hero Chinedu Ohanachom put them ahead with a fantastic finish.

All efforts from the home side to get back in the game proved futile as the league leaders held on for their second away win of the season.

Nasarawa United are now back on top of the table with 14 points, two points ahead of second places Rivers United, who have a game in hand.
