Ndidi, Iheanacho and Lookman fail to save Leicester from defeat to Aston Villa

The trio of Wilfred Ndidi, Kelechi Iheanacho and Ademola Lookman featured for Leicester City against Aston Villa on Sunday.

Ndidi and Ademola Lookman played from the start, while Iheanacho was brought on with four minutes left.

Leicester City took the lead in the 14th minute, thanks to a low curler from English winger Harvey Barnes.

The lead however lasted for three minutes, as hosts however hit back through Ezri Konsa.

Konsa completed the comeback for Steven Gerrard’s side, when he tap home the ball from another set play in the 56th minute.

Barnes and Maddison came close to equalising for the Foxes, but Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez made a brilliant save to deny them.

Leicester City boss Brenda Rodgers was desperate for an equaliser and brought on in Kelechi Iheanacho for Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall in the 86th minute, but the time was too short for the Super Eagles forward to make something happen.

The defeat means, Leicester City now slipped to 11th position on the table with 19 points after 15 games.
