Ndidi speaks about missing out on Champions League spot with Leicester

Midfielder Wilfred Ndidi insists Leicester City had a successful season, despite missing out on a place in the Champions League on Sunday.

Brendan Rodgers’ side lost to Manchester United on the last day of the Premier League season, and the results saw them dropped to fifth on the table and killed any hope of qualification for next season’s Champions League.

Leicester City were favorites to finish in the top four after going unbeaten in their last 13 Premier League outings before the Covid-19 break , but just two wins from their eight league games after the restart saw the Foxes slipped behind Manchester United and Chelsea in the champions league race.

Ndidi who is one of the stand out players for the team said they are disappointed to miss on champions league qualifications , but he’s satisfied with their season overall.

“We are a bit disappointed to finish 5th. But overall. It was a great season!!, I want to first of all thank our fans for being with us even when the stadiums were empty due to the pandemic, it was indeed a season to learn from and grow into next season thanks for support” he said.

Ndidi finished the season with 2 goals and won 129 successful tackles, the Super Eagles midfielder also played 33 of the Foxes 38 league matches.
