Ndidi stars as Leicester City thrash Burnley to go top of premier league

Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi was in action as Leicester City thrashed Burnley  4-2 at the King Power Stadium on Sunday.

Ndidi was deployed in the back four by the coach again and he showed composure and maturity in the position through the game.

Ndidi partnered Turkish international Caglar Soyuncu in the heart of the defense, but they were unable to stop Burnley from taking the lead earlier in the game.

Chris Wood gave Burnley an early lead with a snapshot at the back post but Leicester crawled back into the game after just 10 minutes with Harvey Barnes scoring the equalizer from the edge of the box.

Erik Pieters diverted a low Timothy Castagne cross past his own ‘keeper Nick Pope to hand Leicester the lead four minutes after half-time, before James Justin’ s goal put the Foxes in a commanding position 11 minutes later.

Burnley reduced the deficit as debutant Jimmy Dunne find the back of the net, but Dennis Praet’s rocket in the 79th minutes sealed the win for Leicester City.

The win was Brendan Rodgers 100th Premier League victory, becoming the 23rd manager to reach 100 wins in the competition.

Rodgers also became the fourth-quickest British manager to reach the milestone (210 games), after Ferguson (162 games), Dalglish (197), and Keegan (209).

Meanwhile, Kelechi Iheanacho once again was not in left on the bench among the substitutes for the entirety of the game.
