Ndubuisi Egbo sets new UEFA Champions League record

Former Super Eagles Goalkeeper, Ndubuisi Egbo became the first African coach to win a game in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.

 

The former Nigeria internationals led his club FK Tirana of Albania to a 2 – 0  victory over Dinamo Tbilisi in UEFA Champions qualifying game played at the Boris Paichadze Dinamo Arena Stadium.

 

Terrassa gave Ndubuisi Egbo ‘s tutored side the lead at the stroke of half time, before Celhaka scored second in the 86th minute to give FK Tirana a comfortable two away goal advantage and a clean sheet ahead of the second leg due for Albania in a fortnight.

 

Should FK Tirana win the second leg, they will advance to the second round of where they stand a chance of reaching the lucrative group stage of the European biggest football tournament.

 

It would be recalled that Ndubuisi Egbo is the first African to win a league title in Europe when he led FK Tirana to the Albanian league crown last season.
