Neymar Jr has declared PSG’s trip to Napoli in a crucial Champions League clash as a Final. The French giant has been soaring in Ligue 1; however, it has been a totally different story in Europe.
Their 6-1 thrashing of Red Star Belgrade is their only victory in the Champions League this season. Thomas Tuchel’s men lost their opening game at Anfield and then drew 2-2 at home against Napoli in their most recent tie.
Neymar and Co. now head to the Stadio San Paolo knowing that a loss could be the beginning of the end of their season in this tournament.
Should they return from Italy with a defeat, they would be four points behind Carlo Ancelotti’s men and probably five behind Liverpool.
A negative result would thus put PSG on the path to a group stage exit. It’s for this reason that their Brazilian superstar is likening this game to a final.
“It’s a very difficult match, it will be a final for us,” the world’s most expensive player said (via Goal).
“We know we have to win this game and we hope to have a good match to get a great result.
“Again, we must approach it as if it were the last game of our lives.”
The French side is aiming to end their wait to win this title. However, questions have arisen about their chances of two underwhelming displays.
