Neymar has reportedly apologized to Edinson Cavani and the rest of his Paris Saint-Germain team-mates after a dispute with the Uruguayan over set pieces during their match with Lyon last weekend.
Both came to blows and reports have since suggested Neymar wants his Uruguayan team-mate SOLD after the missed penalty.
The £198million man later unfollowed Cavani on Instagram – only fanning the flames of the tempestuous relationship.
But L’Equipe reports that the former Barcelona ace issued a groveling apology to his team-mates in training on Wednesday, with countryman and captain Thiago Silva acting as translator.
Dani Alves was at the heart of the row when he took the ball away from Cavani – PSG’s top scorer with seven goals – and handed it to his compatriot.
But the veteran right-back, who joined the French giants on a free this summer, reportedly took both players out for dinner this week in a bid to have them bury the hatchet.
It is believed the clear-the-air talks during the meal are what prompted Neymar, 25, to eat humble pie in training.
According to L’Equipe (h/t AS), the team returned to training on Wednesday and the Brazilian took the opportunity to make amends with both Cavani and the rest of the squad.
Thiago Silva, whom L’Equipe (h/t Metro‘s Simon Rice) reported had to separate the pair in the dressing room after the match, is said to have acted as a mediator in the discussion, translating for Neymar.
The French outlet (h/t AS) also reported Dani Alves—who kept the ball away from Cavani in order to hand it to Neymar so the former Barcelona forward could take a free-kick—did his part by organizing a meal for the squad, which Cavani and Neymar both attended.
