First Vice President of the Nigeria Football Federation Barrister Seyi Akinwumi has stated that Nigeria has the capacity to be champions of Africa and has stressed that the current Super Eagles team have the quality to win the next AFCON.
Akinwumi speaking in a chat with www.brila.net said what is required to achieve set targets is to put in the necessary amount of work which the NFF will do coupled with the quality of players on ground to work with which he believes is good enough together with the experience garnered playing at the world cup as well as playing at the last AFCON all of which will stand the team in good stead moving to the next AFCON as well as surpassing the performance of the previous world cup too.
Sports is not definitive, you can do everything within your power and even more and not achieve what you want but it’s also important that you must target what you like and work towards it. It’s the second one that we are focussed on, we want to win the Nations cup, we believe we have the capacity, we believe now we have the experience and we believe we have the youths coming through so we want to win the nations cup, we will like to go further than we did at the world cup.
