Ex international, Ike Shorunmu says the new Super Eagles coaches led by Austin Eguaveon need all the support to perform at the African Cup of Nations.
Eguaveon was appointed as an interim replacement for Gernot Rohr who was relieved from his role, after five and half years in charge.
The Nigeria Football Federation confirmed the appointment of the former Super Eagles Captain on Sunday and he will be assisted by Salisu Yusuf, Paul Aigbogun, Joseph Yobo, and Alloy Agu.
The Football Governing Body also appointed Austin Okocha and Kanu Nwankwo technical and ambassador to the team.
In a chat with brila.net, Ike Shorunmu once worked as goalkeeper trainer of the team, said the consortium of coaches needs maximum support from NFF to excel in Cameroon.
“All I can say is, the Nations Cup is just around the corner, so the NFF and Nigerians must give them all the support”.
“The time is short, but I wish them all the best and we will be supporting them,” he told brila.net.
