Nigeria athletes stages peaceful protest on the street of Japan over disqualification

The ten Nigerian athletes disqualified from on going 2020 Olympics protested on the streets of Tokyo, Japan on Friday morning.

The athletes took to the streets and protested against their disqualification from the game and have called on the organizers to allow them compete.

The ten athletes are supposed to represent Nigeria in the track and field event, but were disqualified by the integrity Unit of World Athletics on Thursday.

The Athletics Integrity Unit sighted non-compliance with the Competition testing requirements as the reason for their disqualification from the games.

The affected athletes are: Ruth Usoro, Favour Ofili , Chioma Onyekwere, Annette Echikunwoke , Chidi Okezie, Knowledge Omovoh are and Rosemary Chukwuma.

Their disqualification left Nigeria with only 12 athletes to compete in the track and field event which kick off this morning.
