Rwanda captain, Djihad Bizimana insists his team is in high spirits ahead of their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying clash against Nigeria.
The Amavubi remain unbeaten in the qualifiers, sitting atop Group C with seven points from four games.
Meanwhile, the Super Eagles boasting some of Africa’s finest talents are desperate to turn their campaign around after a poor start.
Despite Nigeria’s star-studded squad, Bizimana maintains that Rwanda is not intimidated, focusing instead on their own game.
“There’s nothing to worry about. We already met them twice, and I think most of them are here, so there is nothing to worry about, the Al Ahli midfielder said during the pre-match press conference on Thursday.
“We respect them as a big team with big names, but as players, we are really focused on what we are doing in training.”
Bizimana further emphasized Rwanda’s determination, promising a spirited performance in Kigali.
“We will go and try to give 100%, even 150%, because we know they are a good team and they really want to win this game to come back to the top.”
Super Eagles Under Pressure

Nigeria, despite their quality on paper, have struggled in the qualifiers, earning just three points from four matches.
Their lack of dominance in recent matches has emboldened opponents, making every game a battle.
A convincing victory against Rwanda would not only reignite Nigeria’s World Cup hopes but also send a strong message to the rest of Group C, including Zimbabwe, who visit Uyo next week.
The Amavubi, on the other hand, know that a win here would keep them in pole position for a historic first-ever World Cup qualification.
With both teams having so much at stake, the clash at the Amahoro Stadium promises to be a thrilling contest.
The Super Eagles face the Amavubi tonight in a must-win encounter at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali, with kickoff set for 5 PM Nigerian time.
