Nigeria-Ghana rivalry is beyond football — Musa

Super Eagles Captain Ahmed Musa says the rivalry between Nigeria and Ghana is beyond football.

The rivalry is dated back to the 60s where both Nations clash in various competition including the African Cup of Nations.

This time, The West African neighbors rekindled their rivalry again as they will slug it in the final phase of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

“I remember the friendly game will played against them in London .” Musa said.

“The game ended 0-0 but very tough ,it was like a fight in and outside the pitch.”

“So we understand this current ones will be difficult as well , we just just have give everything in the first game and then see what we have before the home game.”

Nigeria and Ghana have huge history between them as both Nation shares a lot of similarities in and outside football.

“Yeah a lot is at stake, said Musa.

“The rivalry between Nigerian and Ghana is not just about football, but politics , Music, Movies and jollof rice as well , but we will do our job, which is to represent our team .” He concluded.

Ghana will host the first leg in Kumasi this Friday, while Nigeria will host the second four days later.
