Technical director of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria Sunday Adeleye has stated that the Federation intends to consolidate on the Nigerian Athletes performance ahead of this month’s World Athletics championship slated for Doha, Qatar.
Adeleye speaking in a chat with brila.net said the Athletics Federation of Nigeria hopes to make the
most of Nigeria’s outing at the just concluded Africa games in Morocco after a stellar showing at the games where Nigeria emerged as the winner of the overall medal in Athletics at the games with 10 Gold, 7 Silver, and 6 Bronze.
The world athletics championship is slated for 27th September 2019 – 6th October 2019.
“We’re not just going to Doha to make number because it will be ludicrous right now to have this calibre of athletes and not been able to go to the world championship and make a strong impact. With the caliber of players we have in the world right now, we should be able to win medals at the world championship.”
