Nigeria vs Ivory Coast: It’s the Biggest Game of Our Lives – Ugbade

Nigeria’s U17 MNT Coach, Nduka Ugbade says his team will be playing “the biggest game of their lives”, so far, when the take on Ivory Coast later today in the U17 WAFU B Championship.

In the first semi-final of the Championship, Nigeria and Ivory Coast will also battle a qualification berth at next year’s Africa Cup of Nations tournament.

In his assessment of the team’s campaign in the championship, Ugbade hinted that the goal is to lift the trophy and nothing less.

“The match against Cote d’Ivoire is of high importance to us,” the Golden Eaglets Coach insists. “In fact, I have reminded the players that this one is the biggest match of their lives.

“They must win to secure a ticket to the U17 Africa Cup of Nations, and from there to the U17 World Cup.

“Whatever we have done here (beating Ghana and Togo) will not mean much if we don’t go all out and grab our ticket to the AFCON and to the Final. We will throw everything into the fray,” Ugbade said.

Tuesday’s semi-final will hold inside the Cape Coast Stadium at 4pm Nigeria before the second semi final between hosts Ghana and Burkina Faso at the same venue.
