Nigerian Football: Femi Opabunmi urges ex internationals to work with NFF

Former Super Eagles’ forward Femi Opabunmi has advised fellow ex internationals to contribute their qouta to the development of the Nigeria Football and not destroy the system.

Opabunmi who represented Nigeria at the FIFA U17 and senior World Cup level said, some ex international players, are trying to make the environment toxic for football administrators.

“It is the responsibility of all stakeholders, including former players of the game at every level, to help strengthen the system to enable a conducive environment for the game to thrive.

“I am shocked at what some of my former colleagues are doing; they threaten the system and create chaos, confusion and crisis every now and then. This negative attitude and despicable activities do not befit their status.”

“Ex-internationals should be concerned with working in tandem with the NFF to move the game forward and build an even more virile football industry, rather than going around trying to causecrisis and chaos. It does not speak well of us.”

The former Grasshopper of Switzerland player  concluded that the current Nigeria Football Federation board led by Amaju Pinnick are trying their best and urged the ex-players to give them the necessary support.
