Nigerian prospect Park Akinlabi bags assist for Real Madrid

Nigerian prospect Marvin Olawale Akinlabi Park started his first official match for Spanish giants Real Madrid provided in their 4-1 win over Granada win against Granada on Thursday.

 

The 20-year-old was a surprise inclusion in coach Coach Zinedine Zidane starting 11 and he left a huge impression on the pitch.

 

Akinlabi Park who is an attacker started the match as a makeshift right-back for injured Dani Cavalja.

 

Zidane’s selection was justified, as the academy graduate provided an assist Rodrygo’s solo goal on the stroke of halftime.

 

The player was later substituted at half-time after picking up an injury in the build-up to Rodrygo’s strike.

 

So far this season, Mavin has featured four times for the senior team and 11 times for the Real Madrid B team – scoring once and providing three assists.

 

Born in Mallorca, Spain to a Nigerian father and South Korean mother, Akinlabi Marvin is eligible to play for any of the three countries.
