Forward, Edna Imade continued her impressive season with a match-winning performance, scoring the decisive goal as Granada CF secured a 2-1 comeback victory over Deportivo La Coruña in a gripping Spanish Liga F encounter on Saturday.
Playing at the Estadio Municipal de Riazor, Granada were forced to dig deep after falling behind early.
Brazilian forward Millene handed Deportivo the lead in the 20th minute, sending the home crowd into celebration.
However, Granada came alive in the second half, producing a spirited fightback.
First, Ornella Vignola delivered a moment of magic in the 72nd minute, unleashing a powerful strike from the edge of the box that soared into the top corner to level the score.
Just three minutes later, Imade took center stage. The Nigerian prospect latched onto a loose ball inside the box and rifled a right-footed shot into the top corner, completing the turnaround and silencing the home fans.
Imade’s crucial goal not only sealed all three points for Granada but also took her season tally to 14 goals and one assist from 26 league appearances.
The win cements Granada’s place in fifth position on the Spanish Liga F table with 45 points from 27 matches, keeping their hopes alive for a strong finish to the campaign.
Next up, Granada face a daunting task as they prepare to visit Real Madrid on May 4, 2025.
