Remo Stars football Club quests to gain promotion into the Nigeria professional football league next season took a big boost as they played out a 1:1 draw with Delta Force in NNL Group B2 fixture on Wednesday.
It would be recalled that the sky blue boys defeated Delta Force 2-0 in the previous fixture back in May, at the Gateway Stadium, Sagam.
However, with the Fatai Osho-led team on 27points, closely followed by their hosts in second place with 24 points. A defeat for either side won’t be an ideal result.
The game was closely contested with both side not given too many chances away and it was like the goals will not arrive until Remo Stars broke the deadlock in the 85th minutes through Sunday Williams, but Delta Force restored the parity with a minute left to play.
The draw means both sides maintained their position as first and second in Group.
In other Group B2 games, Lagos based team Stationery Stores recorded a 2-0 over Nnewi United, thanks to two second-half goals from Ismaila Biola and Rufus Ottobong and Dynamite Force beat Osun United by the same scoreline.
Meanwhile, Shooting Stars Sports Club, at the Lekan Salami Stadium trashed Warri Wolves 2:1 to remain at the top of Group B1, Gateway FC also defeated J’Atete 1:0 at Kuto international stadium to stay in contention for promotion.
