Junior Lokosa says there’s no hard feelings toward the Super Eagles Boss, Gernot Rohr, after he was dropped from Nigeria’s provisional world cup squad and also thanked the gaffer for the opportunity to wear the national colors.
Lokosa earned his first cap in an international friendly against DR Congo on Monday and he put up a fine display.
The Kano Pillars forward thanked fans for their support in a season where he is currently the top goal scorer.
In an telephone interview with Brila FM, the forward said, ‘I want to thank Nigerians for their support and I also want to wish the team the best in Russia.
‘I believe they’ll go out and do Nigeria proud.’
Lokosa is one of five players dropped after the DR Congo friendly, which also means the 30-man provisional world cup list has been pruned to 25.
The squad will head out to London for a friendly against the Three Lions on June 2 before proceeding to Austria, where they’ll commence the second phase of camping for the world cup.
Two more names will be struck off the list on or before June 4, when Nigeria is expected to submit a final world cup list.
