Augsburg defender Felix Uduokhai is elated to get called up to the German squad ahead of coming international games.
Uduokhai who has a Nigerian father decided to represent Germany ahead of the West African country and he could be handed his debut against Czech Republic, Ukraine and Spain.
The 23-year-old admitted it was difficult for him to ignore Nigeria, but playing for Germany at the senior level is an opportunity he pass on.
“My father was born in Nigeria, so I could have imagined playing for Nigeria. But I was born in Germany, grew up here and have also played in the German U national teams.
” So I’m proud to have this chance in the senior national team now. ” Uduokhai told the club’s website.
Uduokhai has played for Germany across the age grade levels and he is currently one of the best young rated defender in the Bundesliga this season.
