Croatia boasts some of Europe’s and indeed the world’s best midfielders going into the world cup, but ex Nigeria international Friday Elahor is not impressed and insists they’re beatable.
Nigeria and Croatia clash in their opening group matches at the FIFA 2018 World Cup at the Kaliningrad Stadium on June 16 but the Super Eagles should be able to hold their own.
The presence of Luka Modric, Ivan Rakitic and Ivan Perisic are names that will trouble any opposition and are match-winners on their day, but the former Super Eagles midfielder isn’t impressed.
Elahor insists Zlatko Dalić’s side ‘aren’t soo fantastic’ and with the right attitude and game strategy, Nigeria can pick three points in that all important first game.
‘We have quality players in the team; runners with creative skills like Iwobi, Moses and Musa, who can run at defenders and pick holes in any wall.
‘Truly, we have our own problems in the Midfield and defence, but certainly the Coach must have done his home work. I don’t think Croatia are soo fantastic. I believe they’re beatable,’ Elahor said on Brila FM.
