Leonard Ugochukwu scored the only goal in the match between Remo Stars and Enyimba FC to help the seven-time League champions secure all three points on Sunday at the Gateway Stadium.
Enyimba were reduced to 10-men in the 37th minute, but showed no signs of letting up as they stunned their hosts a minute later.
Sunday marked the full commencement of the second stanza of the NPFL after a month’s break and Gbenga Ogunbote’s Elephants rumbled away, grabbing one of three away wins on Matchday 20.
Note: Rivers United beat Nasarawa United 1-0 in the only game played on Saturday.
FC Ifeanyi Ubah and Lobi also earned maximum points away from home beating Shooting Stars (0-3) and Sunshine Stars (0-1) respectively.
In other results, League leaders Plateau United earned a point on the road in a 1-1 draw against Katsina United.
MFM FC were held at home by “title chasing” Akwa United in a goalless result.
