NPFL: Rivers United and Lobi Stars Record Victory

On a thrilling day of NPFL action, Rivers United and Lobi Stars emerged as the standout performers, while Plateau United and Kano Pillars settled for a draw.

Rivers United recorded a resounding 6-0 victory over Gombe United, with a Shedrack Asiegbu first-half goal opened the floodgates.

Another Rivers United’s attacker Seiyefa Jackson, netted a brilliant brace in the second half, while Kazie Enyinnaya and Andy Okpe also contributed to Rivers United’s comprehensive win.

Meanwhile, Lobi Stars engaged in a thrilling contest against Kwara United, ultimately securing a narrow 4-3 victory.

The match saw early goals from Emmanuel Ogbole and Anthony Omaka for Kwara United, quickly answered by Adebayo Waheed and Francis Odinaka for Lobi Stars.

Kwara United regained the lead through Abubakar Garba, but Lobi Stars fought back with goals from Alao Danbani and Kumaga Suur, clinching the victory in a fiercely contested encounter.

In another fixture, Plateau United and Kano Pillars battled to a 1-1 draw.

Rabiu Ali put Kano Pillars ahead in the 62nd minute, but Plateau United responded with a goal from Paul Dayop to secure a share of the spoils.
