Plateau United boss Abdul Maikaba has stated that the return of the second stanza of the top-flight league over the weekend is good for Nigerian Football after a number of postponements and abrupt ending previously at this stage of the season.
Maikaba speaking in a chat with brila.net after his Plateau United side’s 2-1 win over Abia Warriors in the team’s Matchday 20 fixture said resuming the second stanza of the league had become a necessity considering the perception and image of the league in Nigeria to the rest of Africa and the world at large.
“We are all happy that the league is back because everybody wanted the league to be concluded because it is good for Nigerian Football, the image of Nigerian Football. I think finishing the league will improve the image all over the world because last season we were not able to conclude the league and this season we have no reason not to conclude the league.”
