Sunshine Stars scrapped through and barely survived the drop from the NPFL this season, but it comes as a “very big relief” in what has been a “very competitive” season says winger Fuad Ekelojuoti.
Kabiru Dogo’s men secured a hard-fought win against playoff-chasing MFM FC, 4-2 in Akure to finish just a point above the drop zone and Ekelojuoti admits no team was guaranteed anything even until the end.
“Congratulations to Sunshine Stars it is a very big relief for the team and the entire State as a whole. As you can see the league is very competitive this season and very tight.
“From match day one till the last game, no team was sure of safety except the few that were sure of the Super 6.”
