Nwakaeme hopeful of making Eagles W/Cup squad

Super Eagles striker, Anthony Nwakaeme has spoken of his desire to make the team to the next summer’s FIFA World Cup in Russia.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with brila.net, Nwakaeme who started the Eagles game in the dead rubber World Cup qualifying game against Algeria last month said he is hopeful of making it to the tournament.

The 28-year-old striker acknowledges the quality in the Eagles squad which has made the team a very thick one in terms of depth.

Nwakaeme who currently plays club football for an Isreali side, Hapoel Beer Sheva, alongside another Nigeria Super Eagles teammate, John Ugochukwu Ogu.

The Energy playing forward, who fondly operates from the left wing of the attack said No one is guaranteed of a place in the Eagles squad due to the pool of talent at the disposal of the handlers.

He, however, relishes his delight having made his debut and hopeful of making it to Russia with the team.

Nwakaeme received his Eagles first ever International Call-up in August, and on 10th  November 2017 he made his debut for Nigeria national football team against Algeria in 1–1 draw.
