Nwobodo fired up for first European season with Újpest

2015 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations winner, Obinna Nwobodo is delighted with the outcome of pre-season for his new club, Újpest FC and is looking forward to the kick off of the main season in the OTP Bank Liga.

After his impressive performance in the tournament, Nwobodo was signed by Rangers in 2015.

He played two seasons in the NPFL with the Flying Antelopes, helping the Flying Antelopes win the league title in the 2015/16 season.

The 20-year-old signed a three-year deal in May for the Hungarian side, but will return to Rangers to finish the season per Osas Mahawi [nigerianews360].

On Wednesday, Nwobodo tweeted: “Done with pre season, now set for the season kickoff.”

“Pre season in Austria was characterized by hard work and was fun also.”

Újpest finished in seventh position last season.
