Coach of Nigeria’s wrestling national team Akuh Purity has stated that the qualification of Nigeria’s women freestyle wrestler Blessing Oborodudu for the final of the 68kg wrestling event at the Olympics will inspire other athletes in Team Nigeria’s camp.
Purity speaking in a chat with brila.net said the feat of Oborodudu has hightened the believe of everyone and he believes this is enough to open the floodgates of multiple medals for Nigeria. He added that the preparation of the wrestling contingents have been good and this is manifesting already at the games.
“By the grace of God we are very happy and I think this is a moral booster although we are prepared from home, we have been saying it publicly that by the grace of God we are going to bring multiple medals because new have worked for it over the years and we have trained, we have prepared our mind and we have done everything humanly possible and the Ministry has assisted us, the Federation have assisted us to build up to this level. We are confident enough and her final will boost the moral of the team.”
