Nigerian forward Stephen Odey ended the season on a positive note after bagging a brace for Amiens in their 2-2 draw with Nancy in the French Ligue 2.
Coach Oswald Tanchot named the former MFM star in his starting XI against the visitors led by Jean-Louis Garcia.
Odey, however, repaid the faith of his coach by scoring an impressive brace to take his tally for the Stade Marcel Picot outfit to six.
Odey got his first with a perfect strike for the opener at the stroke of halftime and capitalized on Iron Gomis’ error to score his second goal of the game.
Christopher Wooh halved the tally in the 58th minute for the visitors and scored the equalizer moment later.
Despite the inability of the team to take the maximum point, Odey is happy to end what looks like a difficult on a good note.
“Thank you, lord, for the wonderful works you do in my life. Make me understand through testing it’s a chance to grow my endurance. Happy to end the season with a good note ” he wrote on Twitter.
Odey who is on loan at Amiens from Belgian giants Genk ends the campaign with six goals.
