Odey inspires Amiens to important victory over Valenciennes

Stephen Odey found the back of the net as his club Amiens SC recorded an impressive 3-1 victory against Valenciennes at the Stade de la Licorne on Tuesday.

Odey started the match from the bench, as Amiens coach Oswald Tanchot opted to start Abou Qattara and Iron Gomis upfront.

Amiens took the lead in the 64th minute after Arnaud Lusamb converted a penalty kick awarded to them.

Odey was later introduced in the 76th minute of the encounter, and he was yellow-carded four-minute after coming on.

Late drama saw Joffrey Cuffaut scored for the visitors in the 91st minute, but the equalizer only lasts for seconds as Mickael Alphonse restored Amiens’s lead immediately after the restart.

Charbel Gomez set up Odey for the three points sealer in the 94th minute of the thrilling encounter.

Odey has now scored five goals for Amiens who currently seated 9th on the French Ligue 2 table with 43 points from 33 games.
