Odion Ighalo’s Al-Hilal Title Hopes still Alive

Odion Ighalo was in action for Al Hilal in their Saudi Arabia Pro league top of table clash with Al-Ittihad at King Abdullahi Sport City on Monday.

The 32-year-old former Manchester United forward failed to add to his nine league goals (for Al-Hilal) as Al Hilal secured a vital 3-1 win on the road.

The league leaders, Ittihad drew the first blood in the 32nd minute, Brazilian attacker Romarinho fired them ahead from penalty spot.

Al Hilal managed to restore parity three minutes before half time break, thanks to an emphatic finish from Michael Oliveira.

The visitors took the lead for the first time in the 62nd after Salem Al-Dawsari converted a good pass from Odion Ighalo, who now has five assists in ten games for the club.

Michael Oliveira then sealed the victory with the third goal three minutes later from a Salem Al-Dawsari assist.

Ighalo was replaced by Saudi Arabian midfielder Musab Fahz Aljuwayr in stoppage time.

With the victory, Al Hilal have now cut Al-Ittihad’s lead on the table to just three points with just five round of games left to play.
