OGC Nice holds talks with Okoye’s representatives over January move

French side OGC Nice are reportedly interested in Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye.

Reports in the Dutch media has it that the Ligue 1 side are keen to bring the shot-stopper to France when the transfer window reopen in January.


Okoye has been excellent since joining Sparta Rotterdam at the beginning last season.

He kept 10 clean sheets in 22 games and He was voted as the club’s player of the year award and nominated for Dutch Eredivisie goalkeeper of the year last season.

The 21-year-old also attracted interest from Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam and later AZ Alkmaar, but later signed a new contract with Sparta Rotterdam.

Despite signing new deal, Dutch outlet Rheinische Post reported that, he could leave in January 2022, if Nice reach agreement with his representative and club.

Okoye was impressive in Sparta Rotterdam last league game against PSV Eindoven.

The German born star made eight quality saves, but it wasn’t enough to save his team from going down 2-1.
