Assistant Coach of Nigeria’s Basketball national team D’Tigers Odaudu Ogoh has stated that he is sure of discovering a number of talented players at the forthcoming National Sports Festival after been mandated by the Nigeria Basketball Federation to lead the NBBF’s scouting team to the festival.
Ogoh speaking in a chat with brila.net said he believes the festival will not be short of quality players majority of whom must have been looking forward to a platform to exhibit their trade after having not been able to play the Basketball Premier League for a while.
He added that integration into the D’Tigers team for Olympic consideration will however be up to the head coach of the D’Tigers to determine.
“The festival is open as far as I’m aware of so it’s people who have not played Premier League all this while that is coming to play. I think we are going to get a couple of people from there, at least we can get a home-based team from there. It’s then up to the head coach if he will now call a couple of them to come and join the team but I’m capable and I am sure we will get some talents that can play.”
