Sunshine Stars of Akure gaffer, Gbenga Ogunbote has squashed reports linking top striker Sadeeq Yusuf with a move to another team.
The Owena Whales who has scored seven goals in this season’s Nigeria professional football league season was linked with a transfer to Akwa United, Rivers United, and Lobi in recent weeks.
Reports circulating the media claimed the hitman isn’t happy with life in Akure, no thanks to financial crisis rocking the club.
Recall the club also failed to pay the players’ salaries for the past seven months.
Speaking on the future of the player, Ogunbote, admitted that he’s short of confidence at the moment due to the financial crisis facing the club, but insist that the club will do everything humanly possible to make him happy.
“Sadeeq is our player, obviously the situation at the club is not helping him, he’s low in confidence like every other player, we will settle our issues and make him happy,” he told the press.
