Ohanu’s last gasp winner ends Katsina United’s 5-year unbeaten home record

A late goal from in form striker Michael Ohanu helped Kwara United secure a valuable away victory against Katsina United on Sunday in the NPFL.

Kwara United went into the match at the Muhammadu Dikko stadium needing a victory to keep them on top of the table.

The visitors drew the first blood with just 6 minutes into the match after Afeez Nosiru curled in a stunning free kick from 45 yards.

However, the lead lasted just 24 minutes as Joseph Atule got the home team back in the tie with the equaliser.

With the teams looking likely to settle for a share of the spoils, Michael Ohanu stepped up and grabbed the winner late in additional.

It was the Forward’s sixth goal of the season and it also handed the Changi Boys their first home loss since they returned to the NPFL five years ago.

Kwara United now sit on top of the pile with 33 points from 18 games, while Katsina United remain in relegation zone with 18 points.
