Okagbare Falls Short in Prefontaine Classic

Blessing Okagbare failed to qualify for the final of the 200m at the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene.

The 2014 Commonwealth 200m Champion, Okagbare, was one of only two Africans in the field along with Ivory Coast’s Marie-Josée Ta Lou.

The Nigerian entered for only one event in Eugene and has only been part of one classic so far this season.

26-year-old American sprinter, Tori Bowie finished with gold in 21.77 secs beating Jamaica’s Elaine Thompson and Netherlands’ Dafne Shippers, who finished third and fourth respectively.

Bowie is a gold medal winner in the 4x100m at the Rio 2016 and silver in the 100m.
