Okocha backs Eagles to beat Ghana in Abuja and qualify for the World Cup

Former skipper Austin Okocha has opined that the Super Eagles deserves some credit for getting a draw against the Black Stars of Ghana in Friday’s 2022 World Cup qualifying playoffs.

Speaking after the game in Kumasi, Okocha insisted, that the Super remain in good position to qualify for the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The first leg of the anticipated ties between the Super Eagles and Black Stars ended without a goal, meaning the second leg in Abuja is a must win for both side.

“We could not separate both teams because nobody wanted to loss the game.

“It was a very tight battle, Ghana played with heart and made the game difficult for the boys.”

“But we must give credit to the players considering the fact that they have giving themselves a good chance of qualifying for the 2022 World Cup.” Okocha stated.

The second leg of the game will come up in Abuja on Tuesday.
