Rivers Angels Head coach, Edwin Okon believes that there is “more to come” from his side after they went top of the Nigeria Women Premier League (NWPL) table Group A table with victory over FC Robo Queens.
A brace from Cynthia Aku and Chinaza Uchendu’s well taken spot kick helped the Jewel of Rivers out 3-0 winners at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium on Wednesday.
“We are better and stronger and if we keep up our levels of performance we can be better than. It’s all about consistency,” Okon told nwfl.com.ng.
“It was a perfect game but we have more to come. We have added quality players and they are already making an impact.
“In terms of chances and goals we did well. It was a great day of football and with us being top of the table I have no problem with the expectations that brings, as I prefer to see myself at the top.”
The reigning league champions continue the new campaign at Abia Angels on Wednesday.
