Recently retired member of the Nigeria women basketball team Cecilia Okoye has hailed D’Tigress after a successful women Afrobasket title defence following the 60-55 win over host Senegal.
Okoye who was part of the team’s 2017 Afrobasket triumph two years ago in Mali hailed D’Tigres latest success in a chat with www.brila.net and described the present team as the greatest Nigerian women national team playing together with a chance to even set further record and win more titles.
“These girls basically didn’t come to disappoint again and they basically have just put the exclamation mark on why you should pay attention to the tremendous athletes they are. Just imagine going to an arena filled with Senegal fans and you cane right in their home to pick a victory.
They are one of the greatest side playing together in Nigeria women basketball history by my belief.”
