Okoye prioritizing three points over clean sheet

Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye says he’s thinking about three points and not clean sheet when Super face Sudan in their second group game at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

Okoye recorded clean on his debut in the tournament when Super Eagles beat Egypt 1-0 on Tuesday.

The three-time champions will face the Sudanese in the second Group game this Saturday and Okoye is expected to be in goal for the game.

“First of all, i’m looking forward to three points and then clean sheet is always good. It’s a sign good defending and competitive team, yes we will be good,”Okoye told NFF TV ahead of the game.

“It was good performance against Egypt. I think we competed well, it was a collective performance. We need to stick to this level and we can beat anybody”.

“We have set a high bar and we need to stick to it. We need to keep working hard and avoid distraction.” He said.

Nigeria is leading the Group with three points, while Sudan is third with a point.
