Okoye ready for Algeria and Tunisia clash

Sparta Rotterdam goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye says he is eager to link with the national team again, after almost 11 months without football.

The Super Eagles last played a game back in November 2019, but Gernot Rohr’s side are scheduled to take on Algeria and Tunisia in a friendly later this month in Austria.

Okoye who is among the 25 man squad invited by head coach Gernot Rohr to prosecute both matches said he’s already looking forward to returning to national team assignments again after such a long time.

“Can’t wait to be back with the family soon 🦅🇳🇬 @NGSuperEagles ” Okoye said in a tweet on Saturday.

Three-time African champions Nigeria will confront the reigning continental champions Algeria on 9th October at the Jacques Lemans Arena and the clash would be the fourth meeting between the Super Eagles and the Fennecs in three years.

Tunisia, rated number two in Africa and 26th in the world, will be the Super Eagles’ second opponents at the same venue on 13th October.
