Former coach of Nigeria’s women’s National team Sam Okpodu has urged the Super Falcons of Nigeria to wake up to new realities in African women’s football ahead of the team’s next fixture against Botswana ladies in the Women’s Africa cup of nations ongoing in Morocco having lost already to South Africa.
Okpodu speaking in a chat with brila.net said the Nigerian team has continued to hold on too much to the glories of the past at the expense of a renewed drive to create their own history in style like the Falcons of the past.
He added that he hopes that the 2-1 defeat suffered against South Africa in the first game will be enough to spur the Falcons back to action.
