Nottingham Forest defender, Ola Aina has revealed that their dramatic 1-0 victory over Liverpool at Anfield stands out as his most memorable moment since joining the club.
Speaking in a feature on Nottingham Forest’s official YouTube channel, the Nigerian full-back looked back on key moments from the season and picked the hard-fought win against the Reds as his favourite.
The match, which ended Arne Slot’s perfect start as Liverpool manager, saw Callum Hudson-Odoi score the only goal to secure a famous win for Forest on enemy territory.
“My favourite moment? I am going to say the 1-0 win over Liverpool,” Aina said. “He has kept us in a few games this season. If it weren’t for him, it could have been dark.”
In addition to the Liverpool win, Aina also highlighted Morgan Gibbs-White’s goal against Wolverhampton Wanderers as his favourite strike of the campaign.
Beyond individual moments, the full-back has played a key role in what has been a solid campaign for Forest.
His consistency and ability to play across the backline have made him an essential part of Nuno Espírito Santo’s plans.
The Defender is currently sidelined with a calf injury, which he sustained during Nottingham Forest’s 1-0 victory over Manchester United on April 1.
Prior to the setback, Aina had started 30 consecutive Premier League matches, proving to be a consistent and reliable figure in Nuno Espírito Santo’s lineup.
Despite his recent absence, the 28-year-old remains one of seven Nottingham Forest players nominated for the Premier League Team of the Season.
Still, with Nottingham Forest currently sitting in fifth place and continuing to push for a top finish, Aina will be hopeful of returning soon to contribute to what could be a landmark season for the club.
