Ola Aina says Eagles players are experienced despite their young age – But are they truly young?

On-Loan Chelsea defender Olaoluwa Aina has revealed that a lot of Nigeria Super Eagles players are experienced despite their seeming young ages.

The former England youth international made his full competitive debut for Nigeria in their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier away to Libya on Tuesday evening.

“It is good for my development to be here, this is a vibrant squad. I enjoy the football aspect too,” explained Aina, who is on loan at Torino from Chelsea.

The Italy-based star said to be on the international scene is good for his career because he has the opportunity of playing with such good players.

“Some of the younger players have already earned such experience. There are a lot of players who are experienced despite their young age.”

”It is good for my development to be here, this is a vibrant squad. I enjoy the football aspect too.” Aina told Goal.
Prior to committing his international future at the senior level to the Super Eagles ahead of his country of birth, Aina figured for England’s U16, U17, U18, U19, and U20 teams, and the fullback has appreciated his teammates for making it easy for him to quickly settle into the Nigeria squad.
”Of course, everyone helped to make my transition into the team smooth. It has been very helpful to me. I am enjoying myself every time I join up and I enjoy meeting up with the squad every time.
Aina signed for Chelsea as an under-11 and made his youth team debut as a schoolboy in the 2012–13 season and went on to start in both legs of the semi-final and final of the FA Youth Cup.
22-year-old Aina, who was born in Southwark England feels the Super Eagles players are experienced despite their young ages, is this really true? Are the Super Eagles players truly young?
