Olayinka’s Own Goal Proved Costly For Slavia Prague Against Barcelona

Nigerian striker Peter Olayinka scored an own to deny his side a valuable point against Barcelona in Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League game.

Barcelona Captain Messi gave the Catalans an early lead at the Eden Arena with a first-time finish after an exchange of passes with Arthur.

Prague leveled early in the second half when Jan Boril poked home Lukas Masopust’s pass from 16 yards.

Minutes later, Barcelona launched an attack and Luis Suarez’s effort from a tight angle was turned into his own net by Peter Olayinka.

The Prague almost leveled again, but no thanks to Marc-Andre ter Stegen who got down low to deny Lukas Masopust and then tipped Olayinka’s curling effort over the bar.

Barca held on at the end, with Tomas Soucek and Olayinka saw their late headers saved in injury time by Ter Stegen.

Meanwhile, Lionel Messi became the first player to score in 15 consecutive Champions League seasons as Barcelona claimed a narrow win at Slavia Prague.
