Olisa Ndah happy to be named amongst the best NPFL defenders

Olisa Ndah says he’s delighted to be recognized as one of the best defenders in the Nigeria professional football league, but insists his aim is to continue developing and also help his team win big titles.

Ndah has been crucial to the Promise Keepers title challenge this season, helping them to the top of the league with one of the best defensive records in the division.

Ndah is regarded as one of the modern defender in the Nigeria top flight division, not just because of his ability to stop goals and break play, also for how he helps team to initiate attack by building from the back.

The fearless defender’s recent masterclass performance was against Kwara United last Sunday, where he shut out the opposition attacks and also created his side’s second goal of the game with an amazing solo run.

Ndah started the move inside his own half of the pitch and cut through a crowded midfield into Kwara United’s half of the pitch before sending a perfect pass for Ikechukwu Nwani who played it through to Nasiru Jibril. The winger composed himself before tucking in a left footed effort beyond Emmanuel Iwu for his team’s second goal.

In an exclusive interview with brila.net, the towering Dream Team VII defender, who is just as calm fielding questions as he is in the heat of a NPFL battle against the top forwards, explains how it feels to be rated by the fans and Nigerian football experts.

“I  feel happy to be described as such, it wasn’t a day journey, I’ve worked hard to get to this level. I must give credit to all my coaches and teammates, because they really helped me get better”, he told brila.net.

Ndah’s greatest assets are his ability to smell dangerous run of attackers and give accurate passes calmly to his midfielders and attackers.

He said: ” I put in extra work in training , built more on my confidence and my abilities. Again, I always watch some players that i like, in order to learn one or two tricks from them as well.”

Finally, Ndah concluded that his aim is to help Akwa United win their first domestic title.

“To get noticed is good, I’m really happy about it, but to be a complete top player, you have to win titles, so the only thing on mymind right now is to keep pushing and working hard, so I can helpmy team achieve these goals” he told brila.net.
