Former Super Eagles midfielder Seyi Olofinjana has been appointed as the new technical director of the Swiss club Grasshopper.
The 40-year-old will replace Jimmy Berisha, who left the position to take up the Managing Director role.
Olofinjana is expected to resume his new role at the club with immediate effect and begin the search for a new coach ahead of the 2021-2022 campaign.
The appointment is a welcome development for the former Crown of Ogbomoso midfielder who has also worked as a youth team coach with English Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Before his retirement from football, Olofinjana played for Crown FC, Kwara United, Norwegian side SK Brann, Stoke City, Hull City, and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Olofinjana has played 56 times for the Nigerian national team and has two master’s degrees as sports director and project manager.
