Celta Vigo climbed out of the relegation zone following a 1-0 win over fellow Relegation strugglers CD Leganes, who had Nigerian duo Kenneth Omeruo and Chidozie Awaziem on for the duration of the game.

Celta played with 10-men for 69 minutes and still managed to sneak a goal past the Lega Goalkeeper Soriano, who was beaten by an Iago Aspas hit to the far left end of his post.

The goal scored in the 62nd minute knocked the wind from the sails of Javier Aguirre’s men, who had dominated in the attacking third and middle third.

Defending high up the field, the Visitors relied on the aerial prowess of Omeruo, who indeed won five duels the third highest by a defender on the day.

Omeruo and his Nigerian compatriot put in a very good shift, between them they won five tackles, while Awaziem attempted two successful clearances and interception.

However, the outcome of the game does not look good for Leganes.

They’re are now in 19th position, only better than bottom side Espanyol, and have won just one of their last seven league matches.
